Who is St. Anthony's Home
St. Anthony's Home is a home for children with different traumatic experiences. Some are physically abused, sexually abused and emotionally abused. Others are abandoned and neglected.
Residential Care Programme
At St. Anthony’s we believe in caring holistically for the children staying with us which means attending to the FIVE dimensions of care; Physical, Spiritual, Social, Emotional and Mental.
Family Preservation Programme
At St. Anthony’s we are very aware of the need to tackle the plight of abused and vulnerable children at grass roots level. We know that PREVENTION is always better than seeking a cure and so we want to assist children and families before the Department of Social Development have to intervene.

Welcome to St. Anthony's Home Website
St. Anthony’s Home is a non-Governmental Child and Youth Care Centre located near Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal which accommodates up to 100 children between the ages of 0-18 years. We provide temporary residential care to children who are statutorily placed with us by the Department of Social Development. These children may have suffered from abuse, neglect, abandonment, or may have been orphaned – often through HIV/Aids
Our priority is to provide these children with a loving, welcoming environment and to care for them holistically; taking into account their Physical, Spiritual, Social, Emotional and Mental needs.
Our Philosophy: ‘Children safe in Families’.
