Welcome to St. Anthony's Home Website
St. Anthony’s Home is a non-Governmental Child and Youth Care Centre located near Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal which accommodates up to 100 children between the ages of 0-18 years. We provide temporary residential care to children who are statutorily placed with us by the Department of Social Development. These children may have suffered from abuse, neglect, abandonment, or may have been orphaned – often through HIV/Aids
Our priority is to provide these children with a loving, welcoming environment and to care for them holistically; taking into account their Physical, Spiritual, Social, Emotional and Mental needs.
Our Philosophy: ‘Children safe in Families’.
At St. Anthony’s we believe that the best place for a child is in a loving family and so we work towards the overarching aim of ensuring that children are safe in families.
The steps we take in order to ensure that children are safe in families involve:
• Keeping families in crisis together [Family Preservation],
• Reuniting families that have been broken apart [Family Reunification],
• Ensuring St. Anthony’s provides a loving family environment for the children staying with us [Residential Care].
